| Spec C Club | I love those wheels on RX7s, Supras, 350Zs, G35s, etc with huge lip but I don't think it goes well with our cars... |

IWSTI Addict since: Sep 2006 Trader Rating: (0) | If you think a 8 inch wheel is narrow I would hate to see what you think of the 7.5. You can put a 295/40/17 on a 8 inch wheel and it works just fine. And yes I know it is up to me what I decide to run. I never asked you what I should run. Maybe you should reread what I said in the beginning. Thanks for the input though. |

That size tire is not design for that width plus, you will not get maximum contact patch and the side wall will have much flex. On STI's 255 width on 9" wheel is ideal size. If you are willing to roll fenders and do some mods, 275 on 9.5" will be awesome performer for stock fender without going wide body. |

I simply asked why you were sticking with stock width. I know a little bit about what fits and what doesn't. I personally have had 275/40s on my Stock BBS's for autox, I currently run a 275/40 on my borrow 17x10 CCWs. If you want to stick with stock width I'm not going to stop you, but if you wanted to run a more aggressive fitment I was willing to help (still am if you'd like to chat about it).

now for 18s a 265/35 is an awesome size tire for 9-10" wheels. either way, I currently run the 265/35 on my 8.5" wheels b/c these new tires are going to be swapped over to the new wheels. I wouldn't suggest running this tire on an 8.5" wheel otherwise usually.

IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2005 Trader Rating: (1) | Perhaps 275 may not be ideal for the streets but for the track, it will provide great corning speed and the heigh of the tires provides greater gearing then the stock setup. I always find myself in between gears and wishing the ratio was a little bit more taller. I still don't think 265 is a good idea for 8.5" wheels as it will not provide better sidewall performance. Since my STI is pretty much a dedicated track car, I guess I don't know the street setup anymore as I think of the track all the time. |

IWSTI Addict since: Dec 2004 Trader Rating: (7) | you're preaching to the choir with 275s for the track, it's the only size i've ever ran (in V710s) for Autox either on a 8" or 10" wheel.10" wheel is preferred of course |

IWSTI Addict since: Sep 2006 Trader Rating: (0) | I am sure that if I had a dedicated track car I would want 275's. But since I go from street to dirt I will stick with the stock sizes. I am happy with the 245/40 for what I use them for. Not into rolling the fenders at this time. But thanks for the help either way always good to hear alternate views. Sorry I snapped at ya. I understand that you were just trying to help. |
