Javi can shift, he just can't launch.

The engine is out it has already been diagnosed to more than likely a valve stem seal. Now why the seal came off or shredded while idling is what bothers me. I blame GTA4 for my lack of getting the engine apart.

I got Gabe off GTA4 yesterday long enough to rip apart the problem side (RHS)...finally.

As for the strip. I still need a new turbo before I can run over 10psi. I'll make a pass or two in Gabe's car until mine is fixed.

Now I just need to figure out where the leak is at. Either an oil control ring or a valvestem seal. Could be either. In any case, the heads are coming apart and getting cleaned (valves and all, relap, etc). #3 exhaust valves are covered in oil (only clean part was on the valvestem, there was a good amount of coked oil near the guides and on the bottom side of the valves). Intake valves look fine. Looks like it was coming down the exhaust valvestem seals or blowing through the exhaust ports causing all that gunk. The combustion chamber on the bad cylinder looks better than the one on the good cylinder.

So, pull the head apart and pull the suspect piston.

Did you pull the valve cover breather lines to listen?

Yes. The amount of leakage was the same as what was coming through the throttle body and the exhuast. If I were going to say which leaked more, I would have to say that #3 leaked more through the exhaust and less through the valvecovers/crankcase. #1 (good piston) leaked more through the rings (and you can tell after I pulled the head off why, the rings are breaking in and wearing a good bit still) and less through the exhaust valve. Both held 100 PSI with ~5% leakage.

So that tells me that it is either seals / valve guides or the oil control ring.

Ty. We got about 1.5 hours of work left until we have to wait on the gaskets to arrive. Not much. I hope the gaskets come in today, tomorrow or Friday so we can get the engine in this weekend.
