IWSTI Addict since: Jan 2008 Trader Rating: (0) | ok guys i've talked to many ppl with built blocks. I mean ALOT! but basically there's 2 ways of doing it 1. HARD break in 2. nice and smooth break in pros and cons? well both make valid points, but i'm leaning towards #2 just cause i'm scared, but i've heard mostly good things about 1 if you're car is warmed up u go WOT! in sessions...ugh IDK does anyone know about this kind of stuff? IWSTI Addict since: Mar 2008 Trader Rating: (0) | breaking in a motor is like breaking in a fresh piece of poon... you want to go soft and slow !?!?!? "it" ain't gonna respond to that dude... you beat it up like there is no tomorrow and leave it opened up a bit and it will be there for you whenever you want it... simple as this: drive it hard, put it up wet /thread |

Do another oil change, drive normal, but do not run it hard for extended periods. Change the oil after another 1k with synthetic and rape on it. Breakin does matter and a hard breakin sometimes works, but you take a big risk in heating up a new part too soon where it will crack and become brittle. The main thing is that you want to change your oil often during breakin as the engine will be wearing off much metal (mainly in the rings) where there is too much contact. You don't want those metal flakes screwing up your new bearings. |
