08 STI brake pads

Do you know if 07 STI front brake pads would fit on a 08 STI ? I need to change the front brake pads, don't want to use the OEM ones from the dealer and all other brands I find online don't say it would fit on a 08 (only 07)

Pads are the same from 04-08 STI.

What about the rotors, are these the same as well? Would that mean any rotor/pad for 04-07 sti's will fit the 08's? I have heard conflicting information.

Fronts are the same, rears are different

04's won't fit cause of the 5x100 and hub size.

The material is definitely different....it's worse than the old compound. I hate the new compound. No bite or feel at all.

Is your STi still under warranty? Your bumper to bumper warranty covers new brake pads you know (but not rotors I believe). They may not be the greatest, but they are free (parts/labor).

Good info. I was just taking a look around to see what compatibility was like from the GD to GR. I had a set of HPS from my 05 that I never used.

So I'm correct in assuming that the pads I had from my 05 will fit my 08 (front and rear) without any problems?

I switched out the stock pads for HPS, mainly to reduce the amount of dusting. I ran HPS on my 02 WRX wagon and was happy with them. What I didn't expect was how much weaker they were than the stock pads - I could get fade pretty easily driving aggressively. The definitely dusted less, but they are not a performance upgrade, or even an equivalent.

Has anyone successfully gotten a dealer to replace the '08 pads w/ the earlier model pads under warranty? I really dislike these pads. They're noisy as hell, they make a mess of my wheels in less than 48 hours, and the stopping power just isn't there to justify those issues.
