Now my question is, is going to a local shop paying a good deal of money for 2 cobb ap maps better then getting a free stage 2 map if I order ap and intake from harman or cobb or another company? Shouldn't tuning be done with my individual car in mind.

each car is different so a tune for your car will work best, BUT at the same time you have to account for the skill and artwork of the tuner. I would go with an OTS tune long before I'd go with a crap tune from someone who has no idea what they are doing.

Find out as much as you can about your tuner. Talk to other subaru guys down in your area to see if there might be a better tuner that knows subaru's. There is only two tuners I'll use in my area and they both co-own their shop.

As mentioned, ask questions, lots of them. It would be a better idea to get the AP and go to a COBB-authorized protuner.

If you're thinking about a pro-tune, it's hard to get much better than Chris. He's coming to town if we get enough people signed up.
