Default Time to rotate tires?

When is a nominal period to rotate the tires on the 08 STI? And our stock asymmetrical tires are ok to rotate crossed correct?

Manual has it at every 7500 miles.

If the suspension is otherwise stock and car is a DD, is there really a need to rotate more frequently?

To the OP - I'm pretty sure our tires are directional, so only rotate front to back (unless, of course, you want to unmount the tires with every rotation).

tires are not directional, they can rotate anyway you want but they do have an outside and an inside.

I doubt my tires will last that long. I rotated at 3K, and I expect to get about 6K from them.

I do it every other oil change, so every 6000 miles. The method used (front back or left right) depends on the tires, I would check your manufacturers website for instructions, or just ask your tire guy.

My mistake. I thought they were directional.

Here is the recommended rotation pattern and time interval from the '08 owner's manual.

Just checking but, usually tire rotations are recommended for even wear since most cars are either Front or Rear wheel drive.

Now with an all wheel drive, given its left at 50% front to rear, why would tire rotation be needed since all four tires are given the same amount of torque? Is this true or am I off base?

There are still weight and suspension loading differences front to back...as well as that thing up front called the steering rack.

That's what I do. It fits nicely with every other oil change. I got very even wear out of the tires on my '05 WRX with this method. I also got 40k miles out of the stock tires. Not expecting that with the STI.
