What? Thats pretty much standard on any car now..? Perhaps thats the problem, some of these late model owners haven't been keeping up with 2009 options. | |

IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2008 Trader Rating: (0) | There's another thread floating around about the auto up. WRXGuyInUSA and mattjk might know more. I think it's an aftermarket piece, probably from DEI. I actually thought about just getting the additional hardware to duplicate the auto down on the driver window on the front passenger window. At least this way, I can auto down both front windows at once, instead of having to leave one finger pressing down for the passenger front side. I have the service manual, but haven't dug into the hardware pieces for it. |

| Amateur STI Driver | Sorry if this has been brought up before. I live in Singapore (we get the UK/Euro Spec STI). I saw some rants here about the lack of Auto-Up. Went for a test drive. The car HAD auto up and down. Is it because the USDM model is left-hand drive so the Subaru chaps did not bother to make the mechanisms necessary for a left door window auto-up? Whats going on? |

| Grassroots STI Racer | I think this would make for some interesting research. I miss the auto up. I don't know how you get that extra up-click from the button? As long as it does not add extra weight |

IWSTI Addict since: Nov 2008 Trader Rating: (0) | You could get a Viper/Python/Clifford alarm and get the DEI piece (don't have model number, its on vipers website though). This module will control both driver and passenger auto up and down. Can control the windows from the remote, and will close them all when you arm the car (if you choose). Otherwise someone would have to make an aftermarket piece to be able to do this. You could get an autoswitch from another panel and hadwire a relay onto the board...but no guarantees it would work. |

IWSTI Addict since: Oct 2008 Trader Rating: (0) | the DEI piece is like $75 MSRP. It's designed as an add-on to an alarm but a crafty installer could make it work. If setup properly, it's safe - it's got a pressure switch to stop the windows if obstructed (like a child's arm out the window). |

IWSTI Addict since: Nov 2008 Trader Rating: (0) | Yes, it wouldn't be too hard to interface with the stock system. You would lose the ability to roll them up or down from the remote but you would obtain auto up /down on both sides and a REALLY crafty person could get the roll up upon arm to work.
