Default Perin Exhaust Noise

I installed a Perrin Cat Back system on my 08 and when it gets hard on boost I heard a screaming sound that sounds like it is coming out from under the hood. It is not the turbo whine it is somehting else. There are no other mods to the car other than the exhaust. Thanks

You have an exhaust leak. check for carbon buildup around the flanges.

Subaruchas, I have been going through this with Perrin and he reports that he hasn't heard of this leak and effectively made 0 suggestions to actually help cure it. Their customer support sucks (when they even respond).

I tried all sorts of fixes for the leak and the only thing that worked was removing the perrin midpipe and replacing it with the stock one which leads me to believe its a problem with either the flex joint or the flange itself. Im inclined to believe its the flex joint because my experience with Perrin and that god awful joint are that they leak under full boost. I had one of their up pipes on my old WRX and it made the same noise.

What I would suggest (or demand! ) is to email Perrin for a solution. The more haste he receives from us the more attention he should put into fixing it. From my experience he didn't seem too interested though.

If companies like Turnin above made exhausts I'd be more than happy to buy from them, no more business for Perrin.

I agree!!! When I email them they explained that they have no heard any complaints and I should go back and make sure it is installed correctly. Very poor customer service!!!!!

Well here goes a big thumbs down for their service.

As for the pipe, who knows, I may try and get a QUALIFIED tech try and weld in some legitimate piping, but .... ugh. The places aroung here to get that done are just as incompetent/lazy.

Why, didn't you already purchase an aftermarket pipe...? Make Perrin accountable for their design!

They are claiming it is an installation problem. Come on...

I'm with you. I'm not one much for smearing a company or person but Perrin has far and away the worst customer service out of any moderately sized Subaru company. As of late, even Comcast has been better than Perrin which is a sad state of affairs.

Two big thumbs down for Perrin.

Yeah Perrin is pretty bad for ignoring e-mails. I understand small companies like Perrin get a lot of e-mails and it is hard to keep up sometimes but when they get a direct support question, they should answer it.

I hate to say it, but I find when they have something to sell, they are very good at responding to e-mails for the first month or so. After that, they go into hibernation.

Has nothing to do with answering emails, how about responding to their potential and current customers in these open forums, stating that they are looking into the problem..!

Not passing the buck! Which is piss poor and a sign of extreme arrogance.

back on topic, you have an exhaust leak majorly.
problem is i don't see why it would be before the catback section, since you ONLY installed a catback.

Right, its not before the catback, it is the catback itself, the flex section.
