IWSTI Addict since: Feb 2007 Trader Rating: (0) | I changed out the front and rear pads to Hawk HPS this weekend. I honestly didn't expect any improvement over the stock pads except in the area of dusting and noise - and that is exactly what I got. You can definitely tell this car is heavier than my 02 WRX wagon; the Hawks were fantastic on that and would never fade in any canyon running that I ever did. By my last 100-0 stop during the bed in process on the new pads I think I started to feel freakin' brake fade! I'm going to flush the fluid when I get a chance. One question, what is with the anit-squeal plates only covering half the pad and coming across it at an angle? I didn't use the fronts and did use the rear. The Hawks are definitely quieter and dust quite a bit less. This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |

| Authorized Vendor | A 100-0 bed in on an HPS is not right to begin with. They are street pads. Designed to help your car stop from street speeds. They will fade with hard stops over 70. If you want something that is less prone to fade, get the HP+. They will make more noise and dust more, but definitely have better feel, a higher coefficient of friction and a higher heat range. That's how the shims have always been with the brembos. |
