The only snag is that they are out of stock at present.....

As soon as I know the new number I will post it. It may appear on the website first (a few weeks?).

The following is supposition on my part, but I suspect both Harman and Perrin just assumed that the front swaybar would be the same length at the 08 WRX. You can look at the previous Harman swaybar posts to see that it also seemed too short. The modified Harman version now makes a big deal about it being the correct length and having vertical endlinks. However, 25mm seems a little stiff for street driving and so I will wait for the new Perrin 22mm bar.

I am running the stock front bar with Perrin endlinks at present to get the car useable while I wait.

Default Re: Perrin front and rear swaybars for the 08

I had the Whiteline 22mm WRX front swaybar and Harman Motive rear swaybar installed a few months ago along with Whiteline endlinks for both front and back. The Whiteline swaybar fit but was a little short which angled the endlinks. With just the swaybars alone, it really made a big difference in handling and was hitting the canyon roads a lot on my days off from work. I had no issues until a few weeks ago when the left rear endlink broke on the way home from the beach in Malibu. The car started making a very loud thumping sound everytime I went around a turn. It looked like the turnbuckle on the endlink came loose, but actually, the threads inside it got pulled out. I had the stock rear endlinks put back the next day as a temporary fix but the left front endlink also broke a few days later making a right turn into a steep driveway. So instead of just buying new rear endlinks, I decided to replace the front swaybar with the Harman Motive 25mm front swaybar with a new set of Whiteline endlinks for the front and keeping the stock endlinks for the back stock for now. With the stiffer front bar, the ride quality remains very good and comfortable, but the car just hits the turns a lot better! I just hope I won't have to replace an endlink anytime soon!

I tried fitting the endlinks this evening. The rear Whiteline ones went on fine. The spacers that sit in the suspension arm were a fraction too long, however, 20 seconds with a sharp file fixed that. It was also easier when I realized that you can stretch the rubber bearing covers over the long spacers. Much easier to assemble that way prior to pulling them back once complete. I adjusted them easily to the stiffest setting on the bar and thread locked (blue) the locking nuts in place.
i just installed my sway bars the other day, and i used the whiteline front and rear endlinks. but i couldnt get the rear endlinks in cause the spacers were to long, little more than a fraction though. i emailed harman and they said to loosen the strut in the control arm to fit the spacers in. haent gotten to try it yet but hopefully in the next few days. ill try filing them too if this still doesnt help.

That further indicates they don't even engineer their parts specifically for a specific car, which I have had my doubts since joining this community.

Coming from the BMW community, when a manufacturer releases a product, they know damn well they should have several detailed photos, testimonials (beta drivers) and a white-paper backing up their product.

Or perhaps they don't take the GR seriously?

You may want to look into the whiteline bars that have just been released. Actually, we are the only stocking vendor at this time of Whiteline bars for the 08 sti and will have a full line of them in by Tuesday or Wednesday. These bars paired with Whiteline endlinks will be a great combo and are actually designed as model specific parts to ensure they fit the STI perfectly.

Wait - you had the 08 WRX front bar fit on your 08 STi? It won't fit right at all if you did. It's about 1.5" too short.

yeah..the front bar was a bit short, that's why I had whiteline endlinks installed. Because of the bad endlink angle on the front swaybar, I thought those endlinks would go out first before anyone of the rear endlinks.

Just curious, for the people who have an adjustable rear swaybar installed, what setting do you have your swaybar set at?

Hello, again, sorry about the issues that you've been having with our front swaybar.

The correct front swaybar should be here within a week. We are also developing a rear swaybar enlink, that should be ready to ship out in a few weeks.

I have the Harman Motive, I have tried all 3 settings in the rear and the 2 settings in the front 25mm bar.

I settled on the front setting being the one closest to the front of the car and the rear bar on the middle setting. Best combination of front grip and rear with these 2 bars.

Might be different depending on your wants and which bars you have.
