Default Change VDC default setting to green (go) mode?

Is there some way to get the VDC to always come on in green (limited interference) mode when I start the car? Couldn't find any way to change the default in the manual.

Frank

Not that I'm aware of and unlikely Subbie would welcome the possible liability which would attach to such a capability.

How hard is it to hold it in for 3 seconds? Now I wish you could have the Sport Sharp and the - in the differential stay in all the time.

Ugh just finding this out now is kind of a annoyance... it should default to whatever was last, have some memory... now I'm looking forward to getting my STI and hitting those 3 switches everytime I drive lol

Turn off the VDC/ESC systems. They suck!!! damn thing tried to spin me off track last week when I forgot to turn it off.

I tend to run the DCCD in Auto -.

If it is dry then I will keep it in S#,VDC off (yellow light), and Auto[-]
If it is wet then I keep it in S#,VDC on (light off), and Auto [+]

I really just don't like that VDC can limit engine torque. I'm not 100% clear if this ability is off with the VDC in traction setting (green) so I just switch it off if it is nice outside and the pavement is dry.

Considering that we've all competently driven cars w/o traction control for years, I don't think we should be afraid of driving this one without it. If there was data showing it was safer for 90% of drivers in 90% of situations, like ABS, then yes, I would want to keep it on. But since that data doesn't exist (AFAIK), then I'd like to at least keep it in a setting that does what I want it to. I'm not even sure I like green mode if that still uses braking. Certainly it would be off for the track because of the potential brake overheating issues. But I'd like to run it every day in a mode I feel comfortable pushing the car in so I can get used to what it does. Maybe I can pull the whole system?

Pushing the little button every time doesn't work because I forget!

Well I look at it like this... It take a few minutes to warm her up, so I make it a repeticious process everytime I get it and turn on the ignitions: Car on, S#, AUTO[-], VDC off (Yellow Light), and of course the damn Navi warning message off.

yup, that's what I do in my driveway. I caught myself forgetting today when I jumped back into the car during an errand. I'm thinking of how easily I could forget when turning the car on and off repeatedly during a track event or rallycross. Just only so many brain cells available at those times
