Default Rear Endlinks??

I am looking into the Cobb bars and understand that I will need adjustable rear endlinks of a new design for the 08. Are any available yet? Suggestions?

I am running the COBB front and rear sways as we speak on stock end links front and rear. Touge Tunning in Canada sell them but you have to pay by PAYPAL only no phone number, Whiteline, and Kartboy both sell them now. Just to let you know if you go with the COBB rar bar, be very thorough and grease the zerk fittings and torque the bar to specs with a torque wrench or you will get a popping noise when you turn abruptly left or right.

Whiteline and Kartboy are both options I am interested in. Does either allow adjustment in the rear?

I don't believe Kartboy has his out yet.

The Whiteline endlinks are adjustable and should work just fine with the Cobb rear bar. We had a visit from the sales director of Whiteline/Red Ranger yesterday who was talking about the increased stiffness of their endlink design. Seems like they are going to work quite well. Let us know if you have any other quesrtions.

Thanks. Did Whiteline have anything to say about availability of their 08 parts?

There wasn't a lot of introductory explanation, but I saw the stuff on their 2008 STI "grudge match" on their home page that seemed to include a lot of new parts. I also noticed from their setup and description of how the car handled that maybe they haven't figured out that they need to lower the camber in the rear (they ran -2.0).

Agency Power sells knocked off junk. Do not buy their parts. I know this is a bold statement, but given the history of their parent company, Vivid Racing, most will be ok with my assessment.

We have Whiteline rear endlinks for the 08 in stock as well as their camber adjustment bushings for the rear. When we talked to them about the availability of 08 parts, they admitted that they should not have released so much info so early on as many of the parts they spoke about were still in the development stage of life. They are going to work through us to get the info out about new and upcoming parts in the future in a more timely conjunction to when the parts will actually be released.

Stay tuned as there will be some very cool products released soon for the 08 that we got wind of during out meeting that is going to revolutionize the industry.

The front endlinks are the same as previous years, so yes they are available. Some of their sway bars are avaialble as well. We currently have some of their 20mm rear non adjustable bars in stock and ready to ship. The bar sizes are smaller than the previous year's bars, but due to the design of the rear suspension and in our testing, they do not seem to need to be as large.

In the write up of their "grudge match" on the Whiteline front page, they talked about not being able to cure the understeer with stiffer settings in back using an adjustable bar. Did I understand that correctly? If so, how do you interpret their problems. All I could think of was that -2.0 camber in the rear (the setup they ran) was too much with the new rear suspension design.

Comments?

I am down to -1.2 and still want a bit less than that, but that is the least I can get with Whiteline's new camber adjustable bushings. -2 is definitely too much in the rear. I noticed a difference with the Kartboy rear sway I am running, but it is not as much of a difference as the older chasis when adding a rear bar.

we actually know what a large part of the problem is, and went over it with one of the Whiteline principals when they came to visit the other day.

He understands what I was pointing out, and why the backend is behaving the way it is. When he returns to Aus. he's going to have his head of R&D call me so we can discuss the model and testing further.

Thanks for your replies. One thing I'm not figuring out here is how to reconcile these two statements:

"The bar sizes are smaller than the previous year's bars, but due to the design of the rear suspension and in our testing, they do not seem to need to be as large."

and...

"I noticed a difference with the Kartboy rear sway I am running, but it is not as much of a difference as the older chasis when adding a rear bar."

The first makes it sound like the new chassis is pretty sensitive to bar size in the rear and doesn't need a much bigger bar where the second makes it sound like the opposite.

Or is there some reason why a big rear bar can't change the handling balance on the 08 (which seems to fly against some fundamental rules?)

Basically... I'm confused (my normal state of being...)

BTW... am I correct that the Cobb front bar is not adjustable?

If so, any guesses as to how long it will be before we can get adjustable front and rear bars (e.g. Whiteline?)
