Default Tbe

What TBE's are available or are soon-to-be available for the '08 STI? I'm running Cobb Stage 1 93 right now and I like the power from about 3.5k and up but I feel it really needs some more low-end grunt that a TBE plus Stage 2 would remedy. I know Harman Motive has one for about $1,500 but are there any other manufactures that have TBE systems available now or in the near future? I heard rumors that Cobb might have one available shortly as well. I might just wait til a few other TBE systems hit the market so that prices will come down a bit but I just wanted to see what my options were. Also, does anyone have any opinions on the Harman Motive TBE from personal experience?

Is it even necessary to get a TBE or would just an aftermarket DP with the stock CB (and Stage 2 reflash of course) be adequate? All I really care about at this point is more low-end torque; I don't really care about noise levels or visuals. Thanks for any/all input.

Doing the same shopping myself.

There are some threads either here or on NASIOC where its reported that you can run Cobb's stage 2 ots map with just a DP, at least on an '07. Not sure on an '08, but given the design of the cat-back, I would expect yes.

The Perrin dual-tip cat-back has just been released, allowing you to assemble a complete Perrin TBE (or mix and match). They're claiming 15 hp gains, which is probably within 5 hp of what others are achieving.

The Invidia DP is available. Others that I haven't found yet may be as well.

I'd like it if Crucial hurried up and released one.

ok, here's the link on the dp only thread (pg 2 of this forum- sigh):

Stage 2 with just DP?

Well, if you don't really care for noise and visual, then a DP with stock CBE is the way to go. It's tough to justify a CBE if all you want is performance. I can tell you that a DP with Cobb's OTS Stage 2 is nearly identical to a full TBE setup, in my car in Cali anyway.
