Default RA Mudflaps Installation Problem? (pics)

I'm in the process of installing the RA muds, and I've finished the front flaps. Wondering if I did it correctly, see the pics below...

They look fine from the front/back, but strange from the side. Does that look normal? If not, any idea what I've done wrong?

As long as it's on tightly I wouldn't think you'll have a problem but I think they are supposed to be flush with the liner.

Clean those wheels BTW

They're nice and tight, but what I'm asking is if anyone else managed to get them flush. Doesn't seem like it's possible, since it would require another bolt toward the outside.

It doesn't look the same as mine.

yeah jade...for my 07, it fits flush with the liner like ^...im not sure if its supposed to be different for the 08's tho...i would try contacting rallyarmour and asking them about it directly...they have a username/thread on here and will surely be able to help you out.

btw i love those goldie rims on the white! wow, cant wait to see it in person. lol

tighten the lower screw, press down on the top of the flap to force it to bend slightly. then tighten down the top screw, that should minimize the gap. if the gap is still excessive loosen the lower screw, press up on the bottom and then re tighten it. worst case you may have to enlarge the holes slightly.

YMMV

Screw it, I took them off. Any gap would bother the hell out of me, and I'm not having any paint chip issues, so I guess I'll leave them off unless I run into trouble.

Car's spotless right now Mi_Black_Pearl, gonna go for a drive.

I assume you have the UR flaps?

Mine look the same. What I might do is buy some heavy duty self adhesive Velcro. That way I can still clean behind the flap and it holds tight to the fender.

Looks like you just installed them wrong, they should sit flush... Perhaps you didn't take much time mounting them up? I can't say withou seeing it in person

Guys, keep in mind this is an 08, for those 07-07 guys chiming in.... i have an 07 and mine sit flush, but i was subscribed to RA's development thread for the 08s and they were running into problems w/ mounting options i believe up front.... SO, these are probably on right, its just got a little gap.... i would email RA w/ pics and ask.... i dont think the gap will have any negative effect on paint chipping either... just my $0.02

There is a small gap between the front flap and the fender on the 08s. But the gap in the picture looks too big.

Hello Nyte,

It looks like you may have not placed the inserts fully into the mounting bracket provided.

To install correctly, we would recommend removing the flap, and placing the inserts flush against the bracket as per the mounting instructions.

When mounting, you can prevent the insert from "pushing out" for the first few threads by gripping the rear of the bracket either with your hand or a small needle nose as shown in the inset (picture "O" from our installation instructions) and providing pressure against the mount with the screwdriver:

As a side, we would recommend reaching out to us directly via email at sales@rallyarmor.com or phone for for more immediate technical assistance in troubleshooting as we try to keep a pulse on most threads related to our products. There are a few occasions when important questions arise that require our attention, and we would like to address the issue sooner than later.

Thanks much
Team R/A
