Default 18" wheels vs 19" wheels on 08 STI??

guys would like to know what you think is the ideal wheel size for the 08's?

I am thinking of upgrading the stock BBS to a set of Volks, Works , Advans etc and cant decide on size. i was thinking 18 x 9 but someone keeps telling me that 19's would look better and I wont notice the diff. 19's would surely affect acceleration no? I must admit when i went from the stock 17's to 18' Work emotions on my 05 STI I didnt notice a great deal of diff and the wider rubber was great for the track days. But is 19's on a 08 (seeing its not really a bigger car than the GDB) overkill??

Would like to get some feedback from the tech heads and not so tech heads on here

Thanks all

19s look good but they are 19s on an STi. That sucks.
Just go with some wider 18s and save the weight.

Well, going +1 from stock hardly seems overkill although you're probably losing performance from the swap. You're going to be better off with lighter wheels and sticker rubber. Having said that, it's your ride. Only your opinion counts re overkill or not.

Save the weight...I'm going for 17's - that being said, the 19" and 18" Advan RS's look CRAZY hot on the car...any car actually.

Plus, you go that big your rotors look tiny!

My 19in Advans are lighter than the stock 18in BBS wheel

My butt dyno tells me the car accelerates better than stock

my winter rims were 17's with +45 offset, worked fine, actually tucked the wheels in a bit more to help prevent the dreaded paint chipping

17's must look tiny on the 08's, why 17's?

winter rims with Nokian RSI skinny 225 snow tires, phenomenal in the snowy Great White North, couldn't get em in 18" at the time

I am planning on using the 18" BBSs as my winter wheels...I want to get some 19
s for next summer...lightweight preferrable. If I can't mod the engine because it'll detonate I might as well put some bling on...

Yeah they do. I can't decide if I want to put them on my '08 or on my FD. Choices...choices.
