haha just in a weird mood. every jackass with an 04-07 seems to give their opinion of the car before they post anything.

I just looked through the instructions. Theres no vagueness(SP?) about them. Step by step, and the steps do not include the green connectors. Seriuosly, what is there not to understand about it. Bottom line, follow Cobbs instructions and you will be fine. Oh and 08's suck, lol.

Weird. I bought my AP from Perrin and it came with instructions and the map manager CD. I'd be pissed if I didnt have instructions.

But, yea the instructions were Can Bus specific and were step by step.

i guess being the "IT-nutjob-that-relies-on-computers-for-everything" that i am - i didn't even think to check the instructions that came with my AP from perrin.

yeah, says nothing about connecting wires in there...

i won't be doing the install til i get some more miles on the car - currently sitting at 250~. once i reach at least 500-750 i'll be doing the perrin 91-S1 map, might even hold off until 1000.

My AP is in the mail, will it come with the most up to date info, will it be ready to go out of the box, or need updates?

i updated my firmware when i received mine - won't hurt anything. it did hang during the update but i let it sit for about 10+ minutes and then cancelled.... found that the udpate actually took.

, except i waited ~30min, then tried to call Cobb (they were closed), then finally said F-it and cancelled. A warning & a reboot later and it seemed to have the latest update. Def. a bit poor, that, since they do recommend checking/installing the latest firmware before hooking up to the car.

alright - did the Cobb AP install with Perrin S1-91 map... only had 600 miles on the odometer so i haven't really unleashed it yet. i will say that i can already feel the difference in the daily driving an pulls to 4-4.5k 1st through 4th entering the highway.

i almost want to flash the cobb stock map after i round 1k miles so when i reflash the perrin S1-91 again i can feel the difference.

oh, and that cobb 'no start' map is nice... car turns over, and dies instantly. must just be cutting fuel - cause that's the same characteristics as when i had a manual fuel cutoff switch in my old civic hatch.
