Where does it mount to? There technically isn't a strut top in the rear. There are no struts in the rear of the 08 STI. The shocks no longer bear any of the lateral load, the load bearing parts are now bolted to a subframe, thus eliminating strut towers in the rear.

hmmm. I checked out the site, that bar looks interesting, but does it provide any of the benefit? The points it mounts to do not bear lateral load. I guess it would help stiffen the trunk floor?

That's what i was trying to figure out. I can see the logic of the under carriage bracing and, of course, the anti-sway bars. But it almost seems like tossing a bone to hatch owners just so they can say they have a rear strut.

to me that just looks like a tie down point or just a way to cut down on cargo space. I hope it doesn't hamper access to the spare too much.

hey hairlesswookie, can you post some teaser pics? im getting my front strut bar this week too! its all going in with my rear strut brace and also the cobb short shift.

i've had the rear one for two weeks now but haven't installed it yet. i looked over the japanese instructions and it requires some cutting. i have a jdm cargo tray and it gets in the way. the thing was over 300$ and im not sure if i wanna cut it up... theres is some cutting involved with the stock cargo plate.

i might do a write up on it if it seems like something worthwhile.

back to topic, pics please~~~
