Default Need some help and advice on a 2008 STi build

Okay first off i have been reading on here and on NASIOC, many many hours so i have done my fair share of searching LOL.
I have a 2008 STI and i am going to build this car here in the next 3 weeks. I am having a problem on picking a turbo for this application. I was wanting to pick the communities brain on a turbo choice. Below is what i have it narrowed down too. Also keep in mind these are the parameters.
1. I am looking for a turbo that will work great with the stock internals and 93 octane.
2. I am looking for a turbo that make a great HP and Tq numbers across the board, not just a nigh number with a peak power band.
3. I will be using Cobb AP as my em. Decision on tuner as of now undecided.
The choice of turbos are
1. Element tunning GT52 GT65
2. Blouch Dom 3.0R 8cm
3. FP Red
4. Rotated GT30R wth the bigger hot side.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I was hopping to attain the power level to trap at 118-120mph.

If I were to take a brand new car and contemplate an extensive build on it, such as this could potentially become, I would take the time to pick your tuner first. Then consult with your tuner to see what he thinks about your potential build.

IMO you can't go wrong with using Jorge at P&L up in Chicago, but I don't know how far you are from that... and thats just my opinion

ive been a big fan of the GT30R since 04. we built a 04 RA Spec-C wagon. rc 850 injectors, aps dr500 front mount, and 400whp on 93 oct. that little 2 litre would pull hard as hell from 3800rpm to the 8250 redline. ps the avcs worked. i can only imagine what that setup would do on an 08 sti.

Yeah i have spoken to Paul,@ PandL.George is on vacation. Believe it or not i have already spoken to Rob@AMR; Phil @ Element Tunning; Rich @ PT Tunning; all of these guys were very nice and informative, but only Paul has called me back, other than Phil sending me an email. I know these guys are busy this time of the year so i will be making my decision here in the next few days though

Thats sickkk, when you figure what turbo to go with and everything. Would you be willing to post every mod you need inorder to fit that setup in your car? Cause that would be really beneficial for the future modders thanksss

Just got off the phone talking with Paul @ P and L. Very inforamtive guy. We discussed going to a rotated Gt30R with supporting mods. I am still gathering all the information to make a wise choice. I will make my final decision over this weekend. If i choose to go that route it is a 8,000.00 move. i am going to research some more dyno charts from PandL and compare them with other possible combinations of partsand dyno charts, preferable i am going to be looking at mph trap speeds with certain combinations. I will keep everyone informed on what route and how i go with this build.

Just keep in mind that a DomIII is a stock location GT30, with out the head ache of having to go rotated.
Ether turbo will yield great results. And both are more then the stock bottom end can hold.
Had a customer who went mid 11's on a DomIII on pump gas. So not bad for stock location.

David,

Glad you had a good experience with Paul. After I spoke with you I found out Jorge was on vaca.

Anyway, let me know when you want some suspension and brake work done to keep that power in check.

I couldn't agree more! A good tuner is the best mod u can do for your car. He will definitely have some opinions on what turbos he has had good luck with and dyno printouts for various turbo upgrades. Remember not to base your decision on pure numbers alone, but rather the shape of the hp and tq curves as well as the numbers. Good luck and don't lose sight of why u bought the car, to drive and enjoy! How about a journal?
