| Junior STI Driver | I'm about to attend my first autocross tomorrow and I'm figuring I'd up the pressure... anyone out there found good results with the stock BBS wheels & dunlops? I imagine there's a lot of personal preference involved but I'm a total newbie so I was hoping to get a starting line in mind... This ad is not endorsed by this member. Also I would recommend to do 35 psi all around and if your starting slipping in the rear, oversteer, etc. Add or lose some psi in the front or rear, depending on the issue. Although I had no prior experience of autox, I just kept the psi at 35 all around. Just feeling around for the course, and have fun since it is your first time and worry about tire pressure later. Good Luck Matt |

So... my advice would be to run something close to those numbers, and to stay away from 34-35 all around, as I think you will not like the result. | |

| Lurker | After a few experimental laps during my first autox on the OEM tires and stock alignment, I found 38F and 35R to work the best. In 2 weeks I will run Kumhos with more neg camber and relearn. Also try Auto Minus and turn stability control off. That worked best for me. Sport Sharp of course! |

| Junior STI Driver | yes, with a stock set up, 2-3 psi more in the front will help battle Understeer and allow you to throttle steer a bit more. Can't wait to get my STI............ druellin..... |

Watch the wear patterns on the outside edges if it's going past theout ring, more air. Also, if you have a infrared thermometer, you check the temps. across the tire. Ideally, in the front, the outsides would be the hottest, then the middle then the inside. If the middles are lower than the insides, more air. Same for the rears. I use white shoe polish on the edges to monitor how much rollover there is. This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |
