Just get some sways and a good alignment and you're set for autoX.

But I heard that aftermarket front sways are too short, making the endlinks connect at an extreme angle. Any takes on this?

Nobody makes an aftermarket front sway yet except Harman and their prototypes look just like the stock bar, which is also a bit too short looking. The WRX bars are WAY too short.

BC Racing has a very affordable coilover solution out for the 08's now. Go check them out Darkside Engineering

cusco seems to have bars available.

but if you look closely, the endlinks are at an angle too.

my "plans" are cusco anti-sway bars f & r, coil overs (without a height drop since it's a dd) and some of the other cusco body stiffeners for the rear.

this will be done gradually with the coil overs not going on until the OEMs need swapping out from wear.

the problem i have right now is the patiences needed to wait for the first order (late april) to get here because the front strut was back ordered.

When you guys do sway bars, make sure you do both FRONT AND REAR.
I did some testing, with just a rear sway bar. And do to the new rear suspension, the rear sway bar had results that where very different to how the car behaved compared to the previous GD chassis. It had a VERY strong tendency to oversteer at the limit. Even with the DCCD set to auto +, the back end was all over the place.

So if you do swaybars, do both front and rear at the same time.

As for coilovers. They are all designed to drop the vehicle (other then group-N rally coilovers), as a lower car has a lower center of gravity, providing better roll center to the car. So just keep that in mind when looking into coilovers.

Good to know about coil overs. Looks like they're out for me. Shocks. And springs it will be.

There is a big difference between the 2.

I've got RaceComp Engineering's Sport Lowering Springs on the car right now, and will probably be rocking some Bilstein's or RCE equivalent when they are developed. As for sways, getting RCE's prototype sways in ~2 weeks or so.

Going out this weekend for some spirited driving so I can give some street feedback on their springs before they're released. Plan to do the same for the sways.
