Default Really need help.

first off i have cobb accessport bones stock sti, with the stage 1 93oct map...so i was on it in like 4th and high rpms let off a little then gassed it more and went into 5th and the check engine light came on, the s button blinks, the traction control turns off, cruise light turns on... i reset the ecu and they all went away. then it hasppened again so i turned the map back to the married stock mode and then it just happened tonight at idle and i dont know what to do now, put it at stock, bring it to subaru tomorrow? n say it threw thesee codes when i got on it? what cures this problem

You got the overboost issue on 4th gear, but I never heard of it fritzing out while at idle.
I got overboost once, 4th gear approx 4500 rpm WOT. But never had it since. I don't daily drive my sti though.. so hard to say the frequency it can happen with higher gear WOT's under load.

this is the thread

Yeah i'm not too sure why ur having issues at idle. I didn't have that ill-effect. Un-marry it again, and then did you try disconnecting the battery, pressing the brake down to drain the charge, and then reconnecting?

Same here. I am overboosting with the ots stage 2 91 ca gas map. In 4th gear around 4k rpm I will get fuel cut and a cel.

i was told the bigger pill will fix the problem.. or do as i did.. get the perrin map and don't worry anymore.. the perrin map never throws the code.. in my opinion, cobb didn't spend enough time testing the maps.. it's pretty ridiculous.. all they need is a bunch of us screwing up the motor.. stay away from cobb!!!

Perrin map is good. So glad I bought my AP there. You see they had forgotten to send me their map so when I got my AP I just installed the COBB map. Next day I got Perrin to e-mail me their map but never felt the need to install it. That is until I threw 2 overboost codes in one afternoon. Perrin to the rescue!

See this is where we seperate the good from the bad. Haha I mean it may just be only the map, but so far this is a comparison to which map most people would want to go with before the other. Testing testing testing lol

I still love my COBB, it puts down more power surely. I just had that one hiccup at 450miles, I'm at mile 720 now, all very hard driven.
It makes sense the perrin doesn't throw overcode as often, since it's boosting 1.5 to 2 psi lower.

Seems it's no more than 1 psi lower at most though I only have the AP to gauge this.

My boost gauge shows no difference in boost between the two maps. None

No offense, but most in-car boost gauges are off, even ones with expensive sensors like DEFI series. It's good to get a general idea of where you are at though. I'm talking about comparing from datalogged on dyno boost sensors. I hit 18.9 psi on my cobb map.

well if the gauge shows the same with both maps. It hit over 19psi. Also. I threw the code at about 17 psi.
