Default Harman Motive 25 mm Front swaybar Installed/Tested

Definitely eliminates a lot of body roll on stiff.

More details to follow of my test weekend.

Quick teaser pic...

Is that a Harman bar or Perrin? I thought Perrin's were red?

I assume it fit OK? What endlinks did you get?

I'll be buying tonight!

Then why don't those dummies put it on their website? The only one they have is Perrin.

Prototype maybe?

I have the first of the first small batch. He is awaiting feedback to start a larger production run.

More pics.....

Driver's side attach, greaseable mounts included.

Pass. side mount. Note the custom angle cut for clearance.

Whiteline Endlinks work great with this bar.

The stiff setting eliminates a lot of body roll. The softer setting noticeabley returned some of the body roll. I feel that this bar will be a great tuning tool for different types of auto-x courses with these two settings being not so close to each other. You can definitely tell which setting it is on on course.

I don't have any empirical data. The plan was to compare on the same course over two days. Day 1 of a two day short auto-x course I had the stock bar on. Overnight I installed this bar, day 2 same course, so I thought, was to see the time difference, unfortunatetly, the course designer changed the course on me. Doh. On full stiff, I had to even out my tire pressures(loose rear in faster type slalom) whereas on the stock bar I was +3 psi in the rear.

Is this a hollow or solid bar?

I'm not sure if this question was answered before or not, but will a sway bar make the ride stiffer?

In a straight line you won't notice it.

Cornering, it will keep the front of the car flatter, thus, stiffer. Turn in feel is vastly improved.

Going over uneven bumps, i.e a speed bump on an angle, you will feel it to be stiffer. Or entering a driveway that has a ramp up angle, turning 90 degrees into that, you will feel stiffer too.

Overall, a stiffer sway bar is the best compromise, if you are looking to change one thing only, over any other change you could make suspension wise.

Sportier shocks, will make the car stiffer in all conditions.
Same for shocks.

I just had my DA koni's installed last night. I'll be starting another thread for that.

These Koni's are much stiffer than stock. Ride quality was affected.
Bobble head is back currently with these settings I have, DOH.

Why such a large angle between the top and the bottom of the End link?
This is the same problem we encountered when putting on 08 WRX Sway bar, it looks to be as the bar is to short, so the end links are bending in to compensate for difference in the length.
Can you confirm this?

Im with RSD on that... that angle looks pretty drastic...

I had a sway on my GTI and there was NO angle it was straight down to to the sway... Granted a diff car but the difference is scary.

Yep, looks like a WRX bar. Looks like I'll be holding out for a Perrin bar, unless HM changes their design. The endlinks should be verticle.

Guys, guys, GUYS.

Calm down, the stock bar and endlinks angle is just as bad, in fact a little worse. I don't have the picture handy at the moment.

The angle is improved some with the new bar.

I was working on an overlay picture of a before and after. Didn't finish it.

Go look at your stock setup. It's not pretty, angle wise.

The whiteline endlinks were easy to install, no need to bend the sway bar to install the bolt into the sway at all. The angle is near the extreme of the endlink but not past it.

I am not worried. No noises or creaks at all.
