I run Group A and they don't have as much angle as the Whiteline pictured...I'll take some pics on the hoist this weekend.

This is the note I got when I asked Whiteline about compatibility for front endlinks and front sway...

"Hi Kris,

Thank you for your interest in our products.

We can say that the following part numbers will suit -

KCA313 - roll centre kit
KSR207 - rack mounts

Unfortunately we do not have a Sway bar or links to suit the STi as yet
and part number KCA334 - Anti-lift, we are still in the process of
confirming adaptability.

Thanks for posting Ploney. I appreciate the feedback, very helpful in making sure this works as planned.

RSD, etc: We designed this bar from scratch for the 08 STI. The tabs are in the same spot as stock (as you can see in that killer GIF... nice job dude). It wouldn't be any problem to increase the length of the bar by an inch, but I was concerned about contact issues w/ the endlinks when loaded.

I just wanted to confirm with Ploney - all of the pictures are with the car on the ground (loaded) right?

The first bar we made broke the stock endlinks in 1 day with street driving. They definitely are not so strong. On that bar, the angle was off by too much. I was hoping Ploney would give the new bar a shot with the stock endlinks to see if they can hold up.

Anyway, now I've got to think about whether or not to change the design a bit more. I'd definitely like this to work as well as our rear bar.

Thanks for the input everybody,

- Dan

The car was on ramps for those pictures, weighted Dan.

I was not willing to experiment with the stock links, plus I already had the whitelines installed.

5/24 will be my first event with the DA Konis and this bar, can't wait.

Also, looking at your AGIF, you are not using the spacer that comes with that endlink. It appears that if you add the spacres, it would greatly reduce the angle, thus making the HM bar a viable option instead of the Perrin bar. I broke my stock endlinks on the perrin bar, so I ordered a set of the same similar spherical whiteline endlinks that you're using, and even with the spacers, the angle is still horrible. I'm going to see how well they handle this weekend at the ATL doublecross.

Isn't that because the Perrin STI bar doesn't exist yet and you got a WRX bar?

I confirmed with them before and after I received the bar, they (Perrin) even had me read back the part number to them, and it was confirmed that it was for the sti.

My whitelines did not come with fixed dimension spacers, just a but load of washers. of which I would prefer a spacer instead. Stacking up washers to me is just asking for some form of slippage/movement. I have some spacers from some other custom endlinks that I have yet to try. I am just leary of adding too much moment arm into the equation here. Thus, amplifying the chance of snapping off the tab(on the lower A arm) versus breaking the link.

Ya Ya...

Popped the stockers on and attended a meet and drive through some blazing 100+ temps on Sun. AC works great I can say.

I ran the bar on the stiff setting. Felt very nice, kept the front very flat, until the drivers side top link nut worked a tad loose. Had to drive home, about 60 miles, with some clunking action. That same day/night I retightened the top nut and blue loc-tited it. Today, it still worked it's way just a hair loose and is making some noise. Red loc-tite is next. Bought some, have yet to try it.....

The angle is improved with the stockers. I will be acquiring some spacers for the whitelines shortly. I had no issues when I had the whitelines on, and on the soft setting, no loc-tite either.

That definitely looks better. I lost patience and ordered the Perrin bar the other day. I have a feeling it's the wrong one, but I'll try it and see. Maybe I'll get the Harman bar later if they would ever put it into production.

Thanks Ploney. I have the data I need now - I really appreciate you testing this thoroughly for us. The angle with the stockers looks way better than with the whitelines - they could def use some spacers.

We'll be putting the bar into production today. It will be about 3 weeks before I have product ready. It will be the same as Ploney's above.

I'm going to start looking into better endlink solutions too.

Thanks guys,

Dan

Looks like I'll be using my Perrin bar for about 4 more weeks then selling it off. Awesome guys.

ps- Any thoughts on eventually producing something bigger than 25mm?

Stockers have less angle because they are rose jointed..take a look in your pic at the difference between the angle of the endlink bolt and a virtual straight line from the bolt head...beefy aftermarket endlinks will have a greater angle unless the aftermarket sway bar is a bit longer to make up for their lack of "flexibility" or you need to use spacers. I vote for a slightly longer sway bar.

Here are the angles on the Group A I am running:

Group A front endlinks in place on stock sway (not under load)

Endlinks under load on stock sway (would like to see aftermarket bars a bit longer as the stock bar is a bit short for non rose jointed endlinks)
