Default Acessport compatability? US vs AUS vs ?

Hi,
Picked up my Alpine 08 Sti last week, and really want to get either the cobb/perrin map with an accessport put on as soon as i can. Problem is neithe rperrin or Cobb will garuntee that it works, since i live in Brisbane Australia. Both of the cliam they dont know if there are any differences in the cars or the ecu, they know the fuel is a little different but thats not so much of a problem. Nether have dealers here who can help either.

Anyone here in australia have an acessport on their 08 sti? or does anyone know if there are any differences between the us model and the australian model? ecu or anywhere else?

call cobb.... dont try to install the us version as it could mess up your ecu.

I have called both COBB and Perrin, and neither will say if it will or wont work. They both just say they dont know if there are any differences (and then they encouraged me to buy one and test it out for them and let them know :P )...So they are happy to sell me one, they just wont garuntee it will work.

I thought i said that in my first post?

I say test it out blueraven... i would like to know too how it goes as i have the same aus spec. Dont know the difference between aus spec and usdm tho but i think its only the right hand drive and left hand drive is the only difference.

Hey subiebru,

dont worry, if COBB and Perrin cant be bothered selling possibly a few hundred units to us her ein australia, chiptorque in brisbane have a similar unit called an ezyflash which is almost the same thing as an acessport. they havent done the maps for an 08 sti yet, but they did them for the evo 9 and 06 sti so its only a matter of time

I told them they could even use my car for development if needs be...
