IWSTI Addict since: Mar 2008 Trader Rating: (0) | I am torn if I should just get a set of summer specific tires that will work well at the track or if I should get a whole different wheel/tire setup. Suggestions for either way? If i get the all around tire, I am ok with only getting 5 or 10k out of them. This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |

IWSTI Addict since: Dec 2007 Trader Rating: (0) | I just got back from a portland trackday... the Dunlops are horrible on the track.. Maybe i'm just asking too much from the tires. they were screaming for dear life. I'm have a ***** of a time trying to find some 17 or 18 in 9.5 inch wide rims with a proper offset to run 275 track rubber tires. |

IWSTI Addict since: Mar 2008 Trader Rating: (0) | Yeah, the tires are not so hot. What was the track day for? What a great day for the track, I'm jealous! I am thinking about the Bridgestone RE-01R's for the summer and track. seem pretty popular. Search for Tires by Size Last edited by PortlandSTI; 05-04-2008 at 11:13 PM. |

IWSTI Addict since: May 2007 Trader Rating: (0) | I would give the dunlop Z1s a shot. I'm hearing good things about them for autocross, and they are suppose to be slightly faster and more consistent than the re-01rs. The price is also appealing. |

IWSTI Addict since: Nov 2007 Trader Rating: (0) | I have used Nitto NT01s and they work great for track days, no so good for daily drivers. I just got a set of ROTAs and Toyo RA1s. I went with 17 X 9 with a 255 RA1. 1st time out on the track with this car will be May 17 -18 at Summit Point WV. Getting white line strut tops put on today so I can adjust for more negative camber. I'm also changing the brake fluid to higher temp, SS lines and upgrading the brake pads to some PFC 01 front and rear. I'll let you know how the tires work out.
