| STI Driver Car: 08 Subaru WRX STi Fav Mod: AP Stage 2 Location: Huntsville, AL Posts: 298
IWSTI Addict since: Oct 2004 Trader Rating: (0) | I pulled the TurboXS Stealthback (bellmouth dp and midpipe) from my 05 STI and would like to put it on my 08 STI. Does anyone know if that'll work? I searched here, NASIOC, and emailed TXS a few days ago but havent gotten a reply yet. Looks like the downpipe will mate up but not sure if the new axleback is in a different position mid-car. | Authorized Vendor | The exhaust will be too short. The new 08 requires a much longer DP and completely different cat back section. You can use the DP with the P and L Motorsports DP adapter to mate to the stock catback. That is what I am running on my car and have been very happy with it. Tony |

AFIK our cars are built off the BL legacy chassis. i cant wait to put on my old LGT dp. the units change hands rather cheap on legacygt.com. but turnin has a good point about the adapter kit. | |

I'm fine with the stock axleback because I actually do want a quiet car but want to jump to AP Stage 2. Seems like prices on 08 exclusive downpipes are steep and come on, a pipe is a pipe no matter how you cut it up. I've had no problems with the TXS, but I'm thinking I'll have to replace that "race pipe" with a cat for this one. Wales, thanks for the info on the Legacy chassis, I think I remember reading that a while ago but it escaped me. It definitely explains why the whole car feels longer. Didn't think I'd like this car as much as my 05, and it's definitely not as quick, but I'm really liking it so far. It's better in a lot more ways than it is worse.
