Default Cobb AP stage 1 paying for itself at 100,000 miles or less...in sport sharp

So I had my Cobb stage 1 (91) for 500 miles - looks like my average MPG's improved by about 1 MPG... my driving habits haven't changed much and I only pretty much drive to work on sport sharp setting...

...I did some math, with my average MPG's improving from 20 to 21 (rounded off), assuming gas price $3.50 per gallon and everything else staying the same.....

....my AP will pay for itself at 100,000 miles - of course with the gas prices going up that's gonna happen a lot sooner....

All the more reason to get one right! I already have 6k on mine and at 4$ a gallon it will be a lot sooner for me.

You know it. It just hit $4.35 here. I also notice I get 2-4 mpg less in cali with 91 octane than I did on the east coast with 93 octane and it was only $3.40 a gal. Paying more for less octane, less power and worse mpg. I hope I get stationed back east soon! Living in Cali on a Military paycheck is just wrong in so many ways, lol.

Please don't talk about gas prices it's making me sad
I calculated what I've spent on fuel and tolls in addition to putting 6300+ miles and counting (at a rate of about 1000 a month) on my car. When I move closer to work I'll be able afford a used legacy or some such to use as a daily just from saving that money alone.

I think its funny how people buy a sports car and then worry about gas prices.

He's saying "you gottah pay to play" You should have gotten a prius if gas is that killer for you. I think gas is also stupid expensive. But hey, I love my car wayyyyy to much to let that effect me.

People are complaining about gas, not "worrying". We'd all like to have more money in our pockets, but I hope nobody here is putting themselves under financial duress to fuel their toy.

I love my STI, but when you want to get on it and have fun it cost money! You say you have to pay to play! People get mad when the oil companies make billions by ripping us off. They also take the oil from Alaska and send it over seas!! Now when you look at the totality of the circumstances with the cost of FUEL!!! "People ***** and they have the right too!!!! When people say "oh well, it is what it is, and you have to pay to play. THAT IS WHY WE HAVE TO PAY SO MUCH AND GET RIPPED OFF! I don't know about you guys but I like to save money when I can. If you don't like money. Then I can give you my paypal account! This is not to get people mad but just think about it.

It is good to know about the improvement. I am still breaking in and I just recently switched from intelligent to sport and my gas milage went up. Counter intuitive but whatever. I get better milage and can have more fun. I can't wait to see what Sport sharp will do.
