In your manual it states that the dealership can disable this warning alarm for you. I keep meaning to have them do this but I always forget .

The seatbelt chime is easy. Get in your car. turn the key to start (not on). As fast as you can begin to plug and unplug the seatbelt. You can just hold down the button to make this easier. You need to get about 20-25 times in and out within 30 seconds of turning the key. Then just start your car. Voila no dinging.

I swear this actually works and yes this is actually what the dealership will do. You can search for it elsewhere. You need to redo it every time you disconect the battery or reflash the ECU.

How do you kill those?

Snip at the resistor?

Remember those VCR's that when you pop in a tape they automatically start playing? Yeah I used to open them up and snip the end of tape sensor wire to make that go away too!

Engineering shall not decide what I want to do...
No need to snip to disable the DRL, do a quick search and you'll see where the green plug is under the front bumper on the passenger side.

HA, I shoulda known, my 05 LGT is the same, but it never stays off. Maybe my battery is a little low, but after about 5 times starting and stopping, it "wears" off, and a clickin' I go again Seeing these cars are almost identical to the LGT in many ways, I'll got LGT.,com and find that underseat plug.

Scottswan, I'd recommend against that idea. Like TiC said, having the ebrake engage turns the center diff open. This could have some really bad effects everytime you push the clutch to shift.

It takes 30 seconds. And the ding is gone. Mine has been gone for months. Just had to redo it after getting the factory reflash.

Laugh if you want.

Has anyone tried tricking the hill assist at the actual box. Looking at the manual there is a wire that goes from the ebrake sensor to the hill assist. Just take a multi meter and measure what is going on under different conditions.

I'm a little confused about which position the key is supposed to be in for this. Is it in the ACC position where the radio works, or the ON position where the dash lights all come on but w/o the engine running?

The On position. Hold the seat belt button in so you can more easily insert and remove the seat belt latch quicker.

I almost did a little burnout while turning onto a street from a slight hill. Stupid hill-assist engaged while I was trying to turn left onto a fast road. The guy facing opposite me waved me to go (he was going straight) and I booted it as cars were coming. The revs came up but the car wasn't moving as fast as it should then suddenly the car shot forward as the brakes released and the rear end got a little loose. Fun stuff.
