Default 08 sti check engine light - P0244

08 sti, mods are APv2.., anywho, was gettin onto the freeway, doing i donno, 45, 4th gear, down shift 3rd, get on it, shift 4th, get on it and then everything stops, CEL on, car jump out of Sport# and stuck into Sport, sport light flashing, and cruise light flashing and trac control turned off, APv2 says code is P0244, reads Turbocharger wastegate solenoid 'A' range/performance, i cleared the code and car seems fine. Was that a over boost code/ fuel cut code. i see other people had this prob on APv1 when it was cold, i dont remember how cold it was outside. do i have to run a diff map while its cold?

thanks

sounds like you had fuel cut because of boost creep. the cold air doesn't help w/ creep so that is an issue.

not sure if Cobb has a low wastegate (LWG) map out for the 08 yet. that might help some, but as with the earlier models porting the wastegate was the correct way to go with things. the 07 STi turbo had a better wastegate design and i would have thought that would have been used on the new turbo on the 08s.

i guess for now keep your foot light on the throttle when driving at high RPMs/boost.

search on here/NASIOC/etc for P0244 for more information.

Check out this thread:
'08 STi - CODE P0244 - Overboost

A few people have been hit by this. The only real way to avoid it is to get a Protune or get a boost gauge and be really mindful.

If you have anymore comments or questions, please post them in the thread above.
