How in the hell are you guys getting mid 20's? I haven't exceeded 19.8, and most of my commute is highway. Even when I stay in I mode and drive like nanny.

I mode sucks. You have to practically floor the gas to get the car to move in I mode, which kills the mileage. I think S is better for highway driving.

I average 14-19 MPG city. This car drinks gas like an alcoholic at an open bar!

I mean, yeah, 30MPG is hard to believe. Do you have a picture? I've been getting about 26 now at ~65MPH.

26 is hard to believe too. I've never seen more than 19.x on mine, my long term average (over 1500 miles) is 18.3, with a mix of ~70% city, 30% highway.

I usually get anywhere from 18.9 - 23 "have seen 27 though going 40 in 6th gear down a long Blvd," with a mix of about 50/50 Highway and street. Using a long one mile coast onto my highway exit I have seen the MPG go from 21.6 to 21.9 just by doing that. I usually go about 75-85MPH on the highway. Going 80 is where the MPH takes the dip. I'am in Tampa, FL so the heat does not help my MPH, as does humidty. "I always get the best MPH at night, or earlier in the morning." I haven't even made one car payment yet and already have a ticket for 63 in a 45 for 188. That is like a cash advance of 3 tanks of gas I might try for better MPG now!

hahah. Yeah, it sucks driving at 65MPH on I, but I save a LOT of gas. I do that when I commute to/from work. When I'm driving around for fun it's in S# and I'm getting anywhere from 17-19.

You guys need to buy a beater car as a daily driver.

I got lucky and picked up a 2001 Toyota Corolla LE with 46k miles for $4700 yesterday.

Its nice to drive a automatic beater car that gets 35+ MPG.
