Does cobb have a economy map for 93 octane?

I was wondering about how the AP affects the powerband. Does it help out down low?

I wish the Cobb stage 1 reflash set the parameters for economy on I... there doesn't seem that much difference in mpg's from talking to people and my own experience...

I get the best gas mileage in S#...

Honestly in I and S the best I get is around 22mpg and that is driving somewhat hard. In S# this last 2 tanks I have been averaging 23-24mpg with about 1/2 freeway.

Well Im at about 800 miles now. Average seems to be around 23. Im pretty happy with that. I did get a 26 one day but traffic must have been good and I missed all the red lights. The biggest thing I have noticed between I,S, and S# is leaving from a stop. You have to use more or less throttle. That just bugs the heck out of me.

I ran with cobb stage 1 93 oct. the last two days. mileage seems the same so far. Im going to try the perrin tune next. IIRC the throttle scaling is supposed to be the same.

I had 20-22 mpg on all tanks in the first 1500 miles of my car. Now I consistently get on I-mode on the freeway, all the way up to 29 mpg.

I have a small theory that, if I put the torque to the back wheels, and turn off the traction control I will get more, but who knows. I have been getting fantastic mpg in I. (all i do is freeway at 60 with cruise)

Even in the city ill average no lower than 25in I.

I don't hit S# much...Im a poor college boy who loves the environment too much

Ideally it'd be "I" for Econo mode, "S" on the knob for their current S#(so it'd default there), and "S#" on the knob for the stock S# mode(for direct comparison if wanted).

I almost never use the regular (well, cobbs') "S" mode..

I haven't had the car long, but I did also spend a few weeks recently driving "the gauge" and getting almost 30mpg around town in the Legacy. It seems like in any gear, there is a "sweet spot" where you will get the best fuel efficiency, and it's not just "the lowest possible rpm" in any gear -- in fact in the STI, by following the gauges, it seems like the best avg. mpg is achieved cruising at around 3000-3250 rpm - this is about 70-75 in 6th - (agreeing with a few of the earlier posters), as opposed to only going 60-65. Sometimes, at lower rpms, it seems like it actually takes more throttle/gas to overcome the rolling resistance than when the engine is humming along in its sweet spot of torque/hp. Above that rpm range, of course, it takes more gas again to keep pushing. Try this out in your own car next time, and see if you find that it helps.
