Well I was thinkin...VDC on traction (green lite) then I'm not sure about AUTO minus or Manual with the lowest setting for the DCCD? I would think on AUTO minus the computer would still interact with the distribution of power if it thought it had too (and use a couple drops of gas with static drag)

Now my real question... in manual on the lowest lock setting (35% front & 65% rear) is the ECU totally out of the the picture or does it still interact if it thinks it has to?????

My Dog is smarter than me,he already has this figured out...wish he could talk.

Exactly how I drive...I love the instant whoosh you get when putting it in S# on the highway.

The best I have got so far on one tank was 22.2 ALL HIGHWAY miles and that was on "I" mode. 70mph constant.

The best mileage I was able to get was 23.5 mpg (10L/100KM), all highway, manually cruising at 90-95km/h in 6th with a few WOT pulls (3rd or 4th) to pass a few trucks.

Around town I'm getting about 17.5-18.5 mpg, going by the amount I've filled up (on the gas receipt). The dash gas mileage reading isn't too far off for me.

This is with the Cobb stage 1 93 octane map.

last trip 1500 km's 10l/100kms, average speed 110-120 kph, sport mode. i'm definitely seeing an improvement as the engine beds in.

i am noticing that i do get significantly better mileage 1l/100km or greater decrease if i use non blended fuel (no ethanol added)

On my way home yesterday from an out of town autocross, I ran with the DCCD full open manual (Rear biased). Messed around with the iDrive thingy, and believe it or not, got 23.4 at 74 mph (cruise) with it in S#.

Everytime I set iDrive to "Intelligent", my MPG went "Stupid". Kinda weird.

The best average I have ever gotten for a tank is 21. If I do 80 on the highway I get about 18mpg. Much better gas mileage at 70-74 for some reason.

First day driving to work with my new STI. No highway and a bit of stop and go.
Averaged 24 round trip.

left everything alone, breaking her in slow. Not as good as my GLI with Double clutch, but pretty darn good for AWD IMO.

Ok, This morning I drove it like Miss Daisy on the way to work.

26.1 mph. Still on the dealer provided gas tank fill. Doubt they even put 93 in it. Pretty happy. I with there was an instant MPG display.

I'm in the 17 club, barely

Have no idea how you guys get in the 20's. 6th gear at 1500 rpm with 40 lbs air pressure on a descent with the wind at your back?

Well, here's what you gotta do. It has to be flat road, you have to drive in 6th gear at a constant speed around, what, 60MPH or so, and don't be punching it to pass people.

For me that's impossible. it's either traffic and I burn the gas constantly speeding up slowing down, or it's open and I go 80MPH and burn too much gas that way. Or of course I decide I'm going to drive it like an STI and I rip on it.

Agreed. I wish the car didn't even have the avg mpg gauge.
