Welcome to the forum frosti mug! As far as i know about the fog lights, no one have done it on the 08's yet. They have not found the fuse to tap it to. I may be wrong but, just use the search key for more info about it. This site is a great tool to research and learn stuff about our cars...great group of peeps as well.

Frosti mug... these guys are currently on the move on how to do it. No one have found it yet though.

Anyone know how to rewire fogs...

Cool thanks. Why not recommended for HID plug and play?

its been covered but ill explain..

fog lights are used for poor conditions, and both color and bulb intensity is important. yellow is more selective to our eyes and aids in poor conditions.

Most OEM HID is 4300K, which is ok, but as you go up in the Kelvin, the intenisity(or lumens) of light decreses, and your eyes are less sensitive to the higher kelvin HID. So even standard OEM HID can be worse than a selective halogen lowbeam in poor conditions, as our eyes are selective to color.

HID needs HID specific design in the optics, otherwise the light is wasted. the location of the HID arc is different than the standard halogen filiment. if you place HID in a halogen reflector, the optics do no work as designed, and hot spot, and such are made. the hot spots create more light in areas you dont need it, and actually reduces your ability to see far into the distance.

theres more to it, but im not going to write a letter here.

overall, stick to halogen in halogen projectors/reflectors. yellow is best for fog lights as they aid in heavy snowfall or fog. with the STI, you can angle your lowbeams down to the ground (with the adjuster in the cabin), and let the fog lights do all of the work.

its all on how you define that the fogs "suck"

yes you can hardly notice them with the lowbeams on, due to them being drowned out by the stock HID.

ive been in heavy snow and dense fog already, and i just aim my lows to #5, and its all good. much better than 95% of the cars on the road.

you have to remember that fogs are not like having HID lowbeams... its not like some magical light source to make everything daylight. rather a light source at a low elevation, which helps in minimizing glareback, while showing the edges of the road. its just a light source, which aids in seeing a bit more than a guy who has no fog lamps.

Bump Has anyone found the way to do the fog light mod on the 08's??? I heard that the Legacy GT one worked but when I printed it out and started to take my car apart it didn't look the same so I just closed it all back up. I have this mod done on the FXT and had it done on my RS and I would like to have it done to the STi.
