Default Congrats Me and Noob Question

I just got my 1k milage on my new 08 STi, should I bring it in for the oil change or just do it myself? My STi buddy said he would help me tuesday but I would like to do it early because by tuesday I will probably be at 1200(Max). Will it hurt if I wait til tuesday? PS: I don't know how to change the oil. Yes, I am a noob suby lover, but weren't we all once upon a time????

theres quite some debate as to whether we need to change the oil at 1000 miles. searched it myself. seriously, it is really up to you. its a personal preference. theres no proof that the factory uses a special oil for break in and theres no proof that changing your oil at 1000 miles will prolong your engine life. just do change the oil at 3000 mile and you should be ok. oil is relatively cheap and imo, wouldn't hurt the car if you change it before 3k or change at 1k.

Chnaging the oil at 1k shouldn't be a bad idea especially if you have the time, plus, it will be a good start for you to know your car, if you do it yourself IMO.
