Simply, how do YOUR tires wear with max negative camber?
Most places will make you sign a waiver stating they are not responsible for excessive wear due to customer specified settings. That being said, take it to another shop in your area that is reputable.

On a stock set up, the max negative camber will barely affect your tire wear on the inner edge, especially if you drive hard and tend to corner hard. This is because you can only typically get around -1.0 degree of neg camber on a stock set up.

Above -1.5 and you are starting to ask for some noticeable wear which dramatically increase from there as you add more and more negative camber.

There's a reason I went with my settings. -1.7 front because I will corner hard with the fronts and -1.5 in the rear. By the time I do rotations and all, they should wear pretty minimally. Plus the little extra negative camber up front really helps the car rotate the way I want.

I didn't have any issues running 3.5 degrees up front with zero toe on my WRX. Maxing out the stock parts on an STI barely gets you -1.5 degrees, that's not going to cause any problems.

On my '05 I ran -2.0 (Whiteline camber bolts) and 0 toe with no ill-effects. I think I had those settings for about a year. None of the shops that I've gotten an alignment from have asked me to sign anything. They look at me funny sometimes but that's about it. Toe is what primarily kills tires.

Do you mean in the stock alignment? Then yes, it was pretty out of whack. The after alignment numbers are as equal as they are going to be; the rear is unadjustable (my '05 had mismatched rear camber as well.)

i consider .3 degrees to be a good amount... as long as it feels and drives well you should be good tho.

my 05 has -2.0 on all 4 corners ftw.

im led to believe that is the ohlins struts slotting tho.

Well the fronts are perfect but the rear is something I can't change without camber bolts. I've never seen someone go with the same camber in the rear as the front, if they can help it. Usually you put more in the front and dial back the rears a touch.

Ohlins struts were to be my next mod on my '05, but I sold it before I bought them (thankfully ).

Once I go back for my track alignment (with all my suspension goodies), I'll be getting the alignment with me sitting in the car (~170lbs).

glad i found this, why didnt your tech use an 05-08 legacy as his platform on the alignment machine. it seems like the calabration would have been closer due to the similar chasis.

He didn't have the calibrations in his database, which needed to be updated. Those are just reference specs anyhow and don't affect the actual alignment.

Interesting thread... I'm still a little confused on what's the best "stock" settings... My alignment over the last two years is pretty awful now, and the wear on my tires is mostly on the outer edges. I'm replacing them all this summer, so when I get new tires, I'll go for a full alignment with settings.

My steering wheel is off center. I brought the car into the dealer and told them it was off center and tracking to the right. It was realigned but now tracks to the left and the wheel is still off center. Any advice?
