Default Noises

hello, very new b
Throwing out the quick questions..
My new 08 STi picked up last Sat did pull to the right with the test drive..per admin Kevin's as far as pre purchase post checking the pressure in the tires revealed 38 lbs in left front 33 lbs others.. adjusted and pull subsided
Steering wheel does seam to be off though
One weeks driving has had my ear working overtime..

1st- noise is after starting and shifting into gear a slight thump, click from under hood ??? maybe the ABS? recall this from of the vehicles

2nd- in the lower gears 3,2,1 decelerating whine(grinding)sound from lower right front

I might be a bit anal, but I see the site will keep me grounded

Break in time is hard to take

THose sounds are normal. This is a performance oriented car and is noisey even with all of the extra sound deadening they have added.

^^ which is very little.

My new 08 is quite noisy as well. But I came from another Subaru that was worse so I'm used to it. They are not refined cars at all. You'll learn to like it.

Thanks for the quick Replies, I figured they were normal... In the rain tonight though the driver side wiper blade stopped working.. yeah... have it removed now and possibly stripped...hope this is not beginning of many things with only 700 miles... maybe I'll just call and have them tow it in (on there dime) Just discouraged.....

Would you believe my rear wiper was on upside-down? The first time I used it, it swept down over the hatch instead of up onto the glass. I thought for sure it had scratched the paint, but fortunately not. The dealer flipped it right side up and that was that.

Well,
I tightened the one nut(14mm) holding the wiper arm and it appears to be fixed for the moment. THe black paint is scratched on both arms, top on one bottom on the other. Rust?? I think I'll put in for warranty replacement of them.

You might think the bolt would be of the locking type. Motor post has vertical grooves all the way around the shaft. These a very small or shallow ones. The arm has nothing but a smooth bored hole.. More research.

Thanks for reply

The redesign of the cars made some very nice improvements in this department. A roll of Raamat added to these cars is now a tremendous improvement. Simply coating the outer door skins with the mat drops interior noise A LOT and when you open and close the door (or even release the outer door handle) it sounds like a mercedes.
