Default 2008 front bar fitment

Back in the day the Whiteline WRX bar could fit the STi. Not super awesomely good, but pretty darn well, and be functional.

Wondering if that was the case this time around we, and Tom@Kartboy started to do some experimenting.

We can say for a fact that the 2008 WRX bar WILL NOT fit the 2008 STi. It's too short by quite a bit on each side. When I say quite a bit we're talking more than just a few mm, we're talking 10's of mm.

My theory is this -
Subaru wanted to keep the same wheel rate for both cars.
Since the STi has a so much wider track they had to move the mounting tabs for the bar outward to compensate. (we know the strut/spring motion ratio on the front of each is pretty much the same so no problem there)

Given this I REALLY need to take measurements of the WRX rear end mounting points and see if they did the same thing there. If they did then they kept they shot for the same motion ratios for both cars despite the track width differences. AND if that's the case I can use the same valving for coilovers on both setups instead of two different setups.

I tried the LGT front bar personally. And it does not work.
It will work on the 08 WRX, but not the STi.

Does anyone know if the Perrin 08WRX bar works on an 08STI? Their part numbers are the same but I have my doubts.

edit: Annnnd the answer is no. Perrin's site is wrong. The STI part is due out in 3-4 weeks.

The 2008 Sti front stabilizer bar is 20mm; the rear bar is 18mm, as measured by digital caliper on the bar.
