IWSTI Addict since: Feb 2008 Trader Rating: (0) | Ok, I'm wiring the car for an amp in the trunk. I used a grommet on the passenger side to get the power wire through the firewall. The driver's side looked really congested, and the big grommet on the passenger side was screaming to be pierced. I ran the power through fine, but how in the hell do you get the sills up? I'm pulling like mad and cant budge them. Is there a trick? These clearly aren't normal snap grommets. Are there any other non standard issues as I move rearwards? I was able to pop the rear seat up and it looks easy to get wire to the rear tire area where my amp will be, although I havent had it totally apart yet. Thanks for any replies tonight - I'm knee deep here! This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |

| Amateur STI Driver | According to the service manual, the lower body trim (scuff plate) around the door is held on by clips. The instructions are "pull". However, they also caution not to pull forcefully as the plate may be damaged. I'd try using some type of panel popper. here's a photo: ![]() ps. BTW, I also had a look at the firewall and decided the driver's side was a no-go. I passed a wire through the main harness grommet on the passenger side as well. I haven't run anything to the rear of the vehicle yet. Last edited by 008STI; 03-26-2008 at 01:21 AM. Reason: photo! |
