Default How to remove NAV on 2008???

Guys... Any body tried to pull the 2008 STI NAV out???? I did not have any luck searching for info. The new trims are not like the previous years, they cannot be pulled out starting from the shifter boot.

Install instructions for the Sirius module, shows the trim removal.

It looks like the trim piece around the stereo just pulls off.

I just installed the bluetooth mic last night. I don't remember where I read it but the easiest way to remove that trim is to tilt the nav system as if you are putting in a CD and then pull on the trim from the inside edge. Worked for me and zero chance of marking up the dash.

That was clever. i wouldnt have even thought abt that. Now my next question how is ur bluetooth working??? I had mine installed in Subaru, now that I know i could have done it myself. they charded $300 plus installation. I used a 20% coupon.

Did you try unplugging all the cables behind the NAV??? does it have a security code, I mean does it locks when u disconect battery and stuff like that?? I am trying to ground the car in motion wire.. Need to ask before trying something stupid...

anyway i was able to pulled the trim out and look at the wires and stuff.. i did not tried disconnecting any wires yet.. now the car beeps 5 times when arming. before it was only 1 for arming and 2 for disarming.. any clue what went wrong?

I haven't had any problems with that. I did all wiring with the battery disconnected. I completely removed the nav unit (wrap a towel around it or something to keep from scrathing the dash).
