I just made an appointment to drop off the car Thursday night for them to check it out. After i described the issue the rep went to talk to one of their mechanics and he has not seen this issue. Just a heads up for you guys.

I have the same issue... 100% stock. I only seem to notice it when it is REALLY cold out and I am warming up the car in the morning.

I listened for it this morning when i left for work. started car in the garage which was at 43 degrees F and the noise was present.

That seems to be right around the threshold for hearing it. Much warmer than that and I won't hear it. I barely heard it today when I went to lunch. It was 45* at that time.

Well I dropped off my car today and they are going to check out tomorrow morning. I will let you guys know what they say. They hooked me up with a sweet ride. Its the real deal Evo/STi killer, hehe or just a base impreza. It really makes me appreciate my car.

Well I got my car back today. The mechanic said he did not hear anything out of the ordinary. So... that doesn't really make me better but at least it is noted in my account of a possible issue.

Are you guys hearing the Hydraulic system doing it's self check every time you start the car?? Read up on it in the manual. It's in the section for the traction control stuff. If you have somebody start your car, with you in front of the engine, hood up, you can distinctly hear it doing the hydraulic self-test.
