The more feedback they get from various regions the better.
I sent an email to Cobb, and Jeff and I have been emailing back and forth about the Perrin map (which was supposed to be for high altitude). Jeff thinks it has to do with the wastegate duty cycle, but I don't know anything. In an initial email (before purchasing the ap) from Cobb, they, being at 4500 ft above sea level in Salt Lake, thought I wouldn't have any problems at all with the map, but...

I've been thinking and wondering if the cel's would stop happening if I give the ECU some time to "learn". I don't know...

Yeah but weird thing about the Perrin map is that i am at sea level and so is Perrin in Washington... And i some how throw a cell with the perrin map where as the Cobb map i havent so far, but then again i dont know if i have pushed it as hard.. but im sure i have. But for sure the perrin map is way more aggressive. Ill email perrin about the issue.

Now for the EWG would that be a good move to go for stage 2? Cause im willing to pay an extra $$ for something that will help me prevent boost spikes. But which one would i have to go with again the 38 or 44 and Do any companys even make them yet for the 08s??

Why don't you just go back to stock or upgrade your wastegate if you're so worried?

I honestly cannot figure out why certain cars are having issues. I know I'm probably jinxing myself here but I have not thrown a P0244 code on the stage 1 93 octane 1.00 or 1.01 maps. This includes a few 4th gear pulls from 2K. I don't ever bother trying 5-6th gear WOT pulls from 2K though...no point.

IMO, These maps were likely not tested in 5th gear on the dyno. I hardly ever break the 100mph barrier, but I have a feeling this has more to do with higher speeds (amount of air) and the inability of the WG to open/vent fast enough with its poor/restrictive OEM DP.

Cobb could have probably adjusted this, but only at a compromise of lower power under lower speeds.

What I think would be really helpful is to log load and EGT's from a car that does and does not. IMO the car that does throw a code will be at a higher load and or higher EGT's

Because not all cars, fuel, or air are created equally?

What is bizarre out of belief is that i have the Cobb 91 octane 1.01 map and would redline WOT all the time in it, and never did i throw a CEL... But when i switched over to the Perrin 91 octane map and redlined it WOT i threw a CEL. Even though washington is at sea level like the location that im at. But then again the Perrin Map was much stronger than the Cobb, so i guess that makes sense.

I have not thrown a code on the Cobb S1 v1.00 or Perrin S1 93 v3 oct map. I recently upgraded to a stage two with the Perrin S2 file and all is well. Never even tried the cobb s2 file. IMO Jeff P. nailed the DAM on this one.

I also have to add. before going WOT and right after re-flash I let the car idle to adjust fueling for a few min. Then drove up and down the rpm range not past 3/4 throttle. Restated the car, then got to an open area to do WOT.

I also have not seen the code yet. I just went to Cobb Stg2 a few days ago. I have a Invidia V3 Catless Dp to Stock Catback and also got a full port job done on the hotside of my turbo needless to say I dont have much turbo lag anymore.

ya your not gonna get any boost creep at all with a ported turbo.. Im waiting on getting a custom exhaust figured out and then gonna buy a Invidia catted DP and hopefully have no more problems..

Both times I threw the 244 cell, I was accelerating from about 100 MPH. Both were v101. Stage 1 93.

Dunno if it's been solved but figured I would post this in here. Seemed like some useful info to those having issues.
