IWSTI Addict since: Dec 2007 Trader Rating: (0) | Has anyone looked into defeating the TPMS system? I run 3 sets of wheels and while its not THAT big of a deal id rather not stare at the warning light on my dash when im running my snow tires or my summer fun tires. Apparently the reciever is under the carper near the drivers door, but thats all i know about it. Any insight? This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |

(not sure if you require four of them or not, or if the car auto detects the address for the transmitter). also you may try and remove the power wire to the receiver. no tpms in Canada , I thought about this prior to installing my winter tires and then found out i didn't have to worry about it. Good luck |

I'll play with it this weekend, maybe it will be as easy as pulling the power... but likely not. I expect it sends a go/no-go signal out so i just need to figure out how to set it to 'go'. |

| Professional STI Racer | You also have to bring those new wheels to have the sensors reprogrammed in the cars computer. Every time you change your wheels. Some Legacy guys have been taking apart the dash and putting electrical tape on the bulb. |

IWSTI Addict since: Dec 2007 Trader Rating: (0) | Here is a good thread of how Lexus IS250/350 owners defeat the TPMS. They go to home depot and make a "pipe bomb". You basically put all 4 TPMS sensors in this PVC pipe and you seal it and fill it up with air. Once you are done, you just put the pipe in your trunk and don't have to worry about it anymore since the ECU recongizes the sensors in the trunk. Check it out.
