However the base from the old GD to the new GR chassis are very different. We had to do quite a bit of modifying to get the old bracket to fit. The 2 rear mounting points had to be completely re welded, the front 2 had to be slightly enlarged and bent forward providing less of a angle.

The seat does sit a bit lower. And being 6'4" this was nice. Lowered the seating position about 2".

However the thing we discovered is that the GR chassis seems to be a little narrower at the B pillar, or the seat mounting location was moved closer to the outside. But the B pillar is hitting the seat slightly(even though the seat is mounted as close to the center of the car as possible).

Let me know if you guys have some other questions

We used the 1993-2007 Base. Just cut off the rear mounting brackets and re welded them.

As for the welds, they are not the prettiest. But they hold, and work.

I just posted up this info so you guys would get an idea of how a after market seat can be fitted into the new GR chassis. There are not GR bases available, so we had to make our own

This is a generic picture of a base that we modified.
The side mounts sit on top of this, so you can see the base when its all in the car and seat is mounted up.

Yes we do.
We tried the resistors for the older cars, and the light stayed on. So we will need to get some more resistors and try them out.
