Default Data logging for '08?

Are there any tools out there that we can use for datalogging on an '08? It looks like DeltaDash has something available for ~$500cdn (direct from the UK) but I was hoping for something a little cheaper. It doesn't look like Enginuity/OpenECU/etc support the CANbus protocol yet.

Ideally, I'd love to get StreetTUNER v2 but I've been waiting for that since AP v2 was released back in Dec of '06.

Any suggestions/thoughts?

Do you do your own tuning?

Cobb v2 cable can work with ecuexplorer for datalogging.

AccessPORT cable supported in ecuExplorer!! - COBB Forums

No I don't. I just use the software to verify the health of my tune/car, especially on the track. I'm still learning how to tune my own car.

Awesome, I'm gonna try out ecuExplorer this weekend. Maybe I can get enough data here at high altitude and share it with Cobb for an altitude map

Good news digital fRiend I just set up romraider on my friends laptop and it works as promised. I didn't log anything, but running a tatrix cable (1.2) the program can read data.

I did however need to download ecuflash to get the driver for my cable.

Once the computer is done charging or maybe monday Ill see how everything works.

So you were actually able to read live data from an '08? I didn't think RomRaider (ex-Enginuity) supported the CAN protocol?

That's awesome news. Thanks and keep me updated. At least my Tactrix cable can be put to good use!

Yes sir. Romraider (program still reads enginuity when loading) showed live data while using my Tactrix cable (openport 1.2)

I read this thread, I didnt see anyone using it on a 08 STI, Is there any confirmation that its safe to use on the new models? Is this just free software and you use the AP V2 to connect it all together?

ecuExplorer looks pretty buggy - lots of people were having issues getting it working in that thread. Are there any other ways to get ECU data from the 08 STI via the COBB AP? This is interesting.

I imagine that you would just use the OBD-II clip and USB cable, not the APv2 itself; just plug from car directly into your laptop essentially. May need to use a different USB cable from the one provided, I can't remember which side had the mini-USB plug. Anyway, I'll be giving it a shot sometime soon and I'll let you know what I can find.

yes.... you just use the cable and dong thingy that your cobb v2 came with. The mini usb plugs into the part that plugs into the ODB-II harness. Then run the ragular usb plug into your computer and run ecuexplorer.
