IWSTI Addict since: Jan 2008 Trader Rating: (0) | Out of curiosity, why aren't you running Cobb's 93 Octane map? I'm assuming you have 93 available locally since you've tried Perrin's 93 map. TIA This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |

IWSTI Addict since: Feb 2008 Trader Rating: (0) | I noticed some people requesting maps for higher altitude. Are there any maps specifically for lower altitudes such as south Florida, or is that how the AP maps are designed? |

IWSTI Addict since: Feb 2008 Trader Rating: (0) | The shop needs to be licensed to use the protune software. I believe they apply for it and if granted, COBB gives them the license key and software that allows them to tune the AP and generate custom maps. DSG is in this process now, hopefully they will be able to tune my car in the future because I really am only interested in using the AP, not a straight ECU tune. |

| Amateur STI Driver | I vote for the current map settings. I have yet to buy an AP yet, but I like the idea very much of an uber economy mode with minimal boost, and two increasingly aggressive modes. cheers to PERRIN performance Perrin mapping uses the 3 different modes for 3 different boost levels. I- Is set to 9psi, which is boost control is nearly turned off. Same less aggressive in the lower RPM and lower accelerator positions. From 6000RPM on up the throttle starts to close. So super super good gas mileage mode. S-Set to about 16psi, same low end throttle response as stock S# setting, but more aggressive at really low RPM. S#-Set to 18psi, Same low end throttle resonse as stock S#. |

IWSTI Addict since: Feb 2007 Trader Rating: (0) | All this talk of economy mode - I suffered through two tanks of gas running totally on I mode and then two on S# (Cobb stage 1 map). There was a whopping .5 mpg difference and driving around in I mode is annoying as hell. The single biggest thing I did to increase mileage was to change off of the factory map. If you want good gas mileage, use your head and take it easy on the throttle, not the 'I' switch. |

| Amateur STI Driver | Man, reading this thread has made me want to run up the credit card to get an AP from Perrin. Jeff seems to really care what his customers think and I will probably be buying mostly Perrin stuff from here on out because of it. I will be ordering the AP from you guys shortly (gotta sneak it past the wife). |
