So with stock suspension, (maybe going to drop it someday) the best summer setup would be??? I want to get the most out of my car both on and off the track with the same setup. Ideally, I could keep the stock BBS for winter tires and get a great system for summer. I am thinking of the RE-01R's for the rubber.
I am really confused with all the different sizes floating in this thread, sorry.
Thanks...

Picked up my wheels today.

18x9 offset +55
265/35/18 BF Goodridge R1

clears brembo no problem
no rubbing, but front strut clearance is tight about 3mm
drove around town no rubbing but concerned with the clearance on the front strut on the track.

stock width - 24cm
BF Goodridge R1 - 27cm

Sorry for the crappy pics.. my camera phone lense was dirty.

good thread... I need to keep up on this since I plan to buy an 09

I checked with a couple of Vendors and it looks like the new Advan RZ 18x9 in a 35 offset will be flush with the fenders but if you want to be a little safer you can go with the 45 offset. The 45 offset supposedly also has the GTR face but I am curious to see how it will differ to a lower offset like the 35. This wheel as some of you may or may not know has a similar appearance to the RS but the spokes are not symmetrically appart, they go in pairs of 2 and then a larger space then 2 and so on... It is obviously a different wheel and Yokohama must be using a different set up as the offsets are offered differently than the RS. Well I am seriously looking into an 18x9 in a 35 offset GTR face in bronze for my 09 when I do get it next spring. This wheel has a nicer finish in the bronze than the gold. I love gold but its a bit flashy and I prefer the bronze. I can't wait to see it in person... I will dig up a picture from home and post it... its truely a drooling experience

Trying to fit these for the next event.

Michelin Porsche Cup car rear tires. 275/45/18
They seem to be almost 3/4 to 1" wider then Hoosier 275's

Has anyone put Axis Super Hiro's on their car yet? I am eyeballing a set of 18x18.5s with 35mm offset to fit the stock tires on my 08 DGM STi, but am wondering if the offset will cause any rubbing or other issues with a stock suspension settup. I think the black with red pinstripe along with the red tails and red vinyl on the grille would look sick. Any info would be appreciated!

haven't seen and 08 yet with them on but there is someone here running this wheel on an 06 I believe... try searching for it and the thread should come up, this way if it fits an 05-07 (depending on offset of course) then you should not have any issues on an 08 since they have alot more room to play with

the runduce car actually is running 18x9 +15 up front, and +35 in the rear. 255/35/18 tires.
I just ordered 18x9 +29 Advan RS, mattieP you should be fine with +35's, as long as you dont want a huge tire.

If you want no hassle at all, I would say just go the 45 offset. The 35 offset you will need some rolling on the rear most likely, and camber would help of course.
The face does not change either way, between the 45 or 35, so just go with the higher one if its the one that makes your feel more comfortable.

if the face of the wheel is not any concern to you then yea go with the higher offset. I don't know if you have seen the GTR face in person but to me... I rather make extra fitment mods and get the GTR face... it looks alot better in my opinion. I have the flatface RS in silver and while they look good they do not look as aggressive as its GTR face counterpart. On an 08 you should be able to run lower offset wheels with less hassle than on 05-07. Just my 02 cents but to each his own. Either way good luck on the set up

Puccas, if you read above, i already ordered the GTR face. lol. I made the suggestion based on it seems like he has not done much fitment on wheels before and is therefore looking for a just bolt-on solution without the hassle of fender rolling, camber, lowering.
