BTW I'm going to sticky this thread since this "wheel fitment" question gets asked rather frequently...

Update.
Took the STi to a local race track with the NT03+m and hoosier 255/40's. Rear fenders where almost no rubbing. Had one very slight mark from full compression over a rumble strip, so with the rears rolled up to a 45degree angle there will be no issues. Fronts with a 10mm Spacer did rub the fender liners ever so slightly.

Thought this might help some guys

That seems to be the popular choice around here. I'm stuck with my 18x9 since they are already ordered from Japan and on the boat. Plus side is I should be able to go 255 and not have to worry about rubbing.

Great report. One question. Those wheels were the +40 offset with the 10mm spacer right? Does that effectively make them a +30mm offset setup?

So I'm guessing +38 offset on 18X9.5's will definitely not fit?

I was just about to ask this same question. I have that size rim on my current car with 255 width tires. Would that fit, or is it pushing the envelope?

Seems like 18x9.5 +45 with fat tire is almost perfect sizing on that blue one, so jumping down to +38 with a 255 tire would probably not be too great of an idea. You would probably have to stretch the tire, jumping down to a 235 most likely and some camber.
