Ok guys, I am almost ready to pull the trigger on a beautiful set of HRE´s P40 Custom made gold wheels(did you check them out caveguru?). They warranty fitment in 19x9.5+48 but only if fitted with 265/30-19 or 255/35-19 (with a small drop and no pulling or rolling anything). I really want 265/35-19 (taller would be less harsh and would protect those wheels better, and 255 would be really stretched). They say 265/35-19 with those wheels would be at my own risk. What do you guys think. I really need the experts opinion on this one, those wheels do not come cheap but I really do like them.
Thanks guys.

haven't checked em out again yet. 265/35/19 is 26.3" in diameter, or 0.6" over stock. To me, that's just asking for trouble because the front fender wells are so snug on the GR's. 265/30/19 is a short sidewall, which you might not like, but is under stock at 25.3". 275/30/19 is almost perfect at 25.6". You may also want to reconsider just rolling the fenders, otherwise I would say go with the 255's and play it safe.

At 275/30-19 with the 9.5 and +48, would we be looking at some strut clearence issues? If not, then my friend, we have a winner.

I don't think so. I still have at least 3mm of inboard clearance (more like 8-12mm) and I had my front camber bolts maxed on both the factory dampers and on my KW's.

Are 5mm spacers really required for a 17.x7.5 +45 offset wheel? I'm looking at running a set of Rotas in that size with 225/50/17 Dunlop M3s for winter...everyone keeps telling me they'll fit fine...this is the first I've heard of the spacer?

For that particular wheel, it looks like it had to do with clearance of the brakes rather then a good fit in the wheel well/fender and strut clearance.

with the shape of the spokes it was necessary.. it all really depends on the style of the rim.. just to be safe tho i'd suggest you get a +40 or 17x8 +45..

afaik, there is no 18" rpf1 that clears brembos, but I would look on nasioc for a thread about wheels that clear brembos.

I would second that on getting an 8" wheel. There is no point in getting a 7.5" wheel for 225's unless you are 1) really concerned about weight, 2) really concerned about having an unstressed, soft riding sidewall, or 3) really concerned about the $5 your save per wheel. An 8" wheel will give you more options and more resale down the road. Now if you're thinking of putting some 205 ice tires on later, ok

yeah.. the only reason i got the 17x7.5 was because of the price/weight compared to other styles.. this model was limited to a few size choices.. if they had a 17x8 i would have taken those.. but since it's for winter.. i didn't really care..
