I like Work Emotion xc8's in 18x9.5 deep concave ET+45. After contacting Work directly I found that there may be some clearance issues but I have noticed in this thread that this is a common size with other brands. Does manufacturer make a difference? Anyone else try these yet?

Hey i have a question.. i was wondering tomorrow im going to be ordering a set of advans. but im not sure what offset im gonna go with.. I was thinking +45 or +35. I have an 08 STI, and im going for the 18X9.5 rim. I may later add some coilovers i think. Or some lowering springs. Only because i hear with coilovers it makes your ride harder... So please let me know what you guys think. Thanks a lot

Matt,

We run 18x9.5 +44 Prodrives and they fit amazing. A +35 in that wide of a rim will give you problems in the rear, and you will need to roll your fenders.

18x9.5+28 CE28N

-Rears Rolled check
-Coilovers check

What else to make this work? Optimal tire size?

which coilovers did you get? Any feedback yet on ride and handling? Did the choice of coilovers lead you to choose the shallow +28 offset? With that offset, I would expect 255's to fit ok and 265's to be snug.

Wow. The guys running 18x9 +29 are having issues with fitment. You are looking at having the outside edge of the wheel about 7mm more toward the outside of the car than theirs are. Caveguru and I are running 18x9.5 +45 with 275 width tires and need to roll the rear fenders. Only slightly mind you, but still. Your wheel will be 17mm more outboard than ours are. Depending on the ride height you are going for and the spring rate, you may have to do more than roll the fenders in the rear, and you may need to do something in the front as well, maybe a lot of camber will make it work, but i'm not sure. Good luck though.

Here is a pic of mine.

I think I am going to go for it. I have the +29 or 30 Gforce now and want to for something a little more crazy

I will be going with 245/40/18 at first to make sure everything is "ok?"...

Hey guys!
Whiteline offers a rear camber correction kit for the 08 Chassis. You get a extra .75 degrees of camber. And we where able to get -2.1 degrees in the rear. So try that out.

Anyone running: 18x9 +50 275/35/18's ...?

Or would +48's be a better choice? I'm thinking B/F's KDW 2s ..... anyone?

I'm running +45's w/ 275's and there is at least a half an inch of inboard clearance, even more in the rear. I'll have coilovers soon, so I'll amend that front clearance once I have those (KW clubsports). With stock dampers you should be fine. no exp w/ the KDW's re whether you can get the 275's to deform onto 9" rims, but I'd bet they will.

Any idea if Volk CE28s in 18x9 +50 on 245s with coilovers will hit anything suspension inside?

gobs of room- you're fine.

btw, just finished the alignment today after installing the Whiteline ALK kit for the '08's. My front caster is now 6.3/6.6. I should be able to even that out after I tweak the ALK bushings some more. So far, so good- the tires are not rubbing the front fender liners, although its dang close.
