IWSTI Addict since: Aug 2003 Trader Rating: (7) | Taking delivery on a new STi was exciting. But the real fun is just around the corner ![]() Cobb Tuning has been working on the AccessPort for the new CanBus system to be able offer Tuning for the new Subaru models. Including Legacy, Forester, WRX and STi. Having driven the car for the first 15XX miles it was apparent that the car needed to get some ECU help, and this is where Cobb Tuning comes in. After doing some initial dyno testing they where able to supply our shop STi with a base map via the Access Port to try and do some daily driving feed back. First and foremost the stock tune on the car as many of you have read is not the best for making lots of power, especially with 91 Octane. The S# mode was a bit faster then the other 2 on the stock ECU, however it could be better. However things are soon to change. After the quick drive over to Cobb Tuning, the first map was ready to be tried out. Flashing the new STi is easier then ever, no wires under the dash to touch and not fans to listen to. The AP just gets plugged in and the flashing begins. Instantly it was apparent that the car needed a tune like this from the factory. ![]() Driving the car for the first time was definitely impressive. A much needed boost of power could be instantly felt. Best way to compare it was like going from stock to stage2 on the GD's. The power would now be coming on sooner and harder, pulling all the way to red line. The more interesting thing was the SI drive. Watching the needle instantly jump from one boost level to a higher one is a thing that was hard to believe on a stock STi. The switch from I to S# could be instantly seen by the needle moving several pounds higher and the spool of the turbo could now be heard . The car is now what a Sti should feel like .More initial testing feedback and impression will be posted on here, so stay tuned. ![]() As of right now no HP or TQ readings are available. But all I can say is that the car is much faster. Kirill RallySportDirect.com This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. IWSTI Addict since: Aug 2003 Trader Rating: (7) | We dont even know the Numbers. Cobb gave us a map and asked us to try it. The boost settings where unknow untill a gauge was put onto the car. Numbers or no numbers. This is getting exciting |

IWSTI Addict since: Aug 2003 Trader Rating: (7) | Did a Stg2 last night on the STi, and the car was driving much better. However the map that was provided was for a Catted Down pipe, and we did a Catless. So we ran into some overboosting issues. Will post impression after we bring the boost to a reasonable level. IWSTI Addict since: Aug 2003 Trader Rating: (7) | Upgraded to a Stg2 Last night. Down pipe only for now as no cat backs are out yet. But oh boy is it fun ![]() The car is now much quicker in the lower gears compared to the Stg1. Spool up, along with throttle response has been improved. Acceleration, has improved all around. This is just initial testing, so once we get a Cat back, and another map revision it will only get better ![]() Kirill RallySportDirect.com |

IWSTI Addict since: Jan 2008 Trader Rating: (1) | All good news. With an 08 just week(s) away from delivery, the AP is on my short list. Not wanting to void warranties, a stage 1 is sounding pretty simple and effective! The biggest question is, "WHEN CAN WE BUY ONE?" |

| Junior STI Driver | This question might be covered already... but i know the stock map is stored into the AP. Does the ECU store data, stating the ecu has be reflashed? does it record how many times it has been reflashed? |
